DAN SAVAGE |
Dan Savage is one of America’s leading ‘Speaker Impresarios.’ For over 29 years, Savage has presented, booked and produced nearly 10,000 events in the speaker/entertainment arena.
Before teaming up with Rothenberg, Savage joined the Nationwide Speakers Bureau in Beverly Hills as Sr. VP. At that post he exclusively signed Bill Porter, whose life was portrayed in the six Emmy-winning movie ‘Door to Door’ in 2003. He also arranged for thousands of lectures and special VIP events, with such notables as Charlie Rose, Al Gore, Joe DiMaggio, Tommy Lasorda, Mickey Mantle, Pat Riley, Gene Roddenberry and Queen Noor. For more than 15 years, Savage worked with ‘Roots’ author Alex Haley and spearheaded a very large series of tours for Mr. Haley in conjunction with the record breaking TV miniseries. Savage was the major force in handling the development of the ‘live’ Star Trek market. He created the widely successful ‘World of Star Trek’ arena show, which turned over 100 markets and was co-produced with Concerts West/Management III organization. As VP of the Leigh Bureau - New York, he arranged presentations for such notables as Abba Eban and Arthur C. Clarke. He produced successful theatrical productions, such as Leonard Nimoy’s ‘Theo’ and Vincent Price’s “Masters of Horror.” Savage also produced hundreds of private concerts such as Smokey Robinson for the Nike Open. Savage’s record in community and charitable service is also distinguished. He has been an active Big Brother for over 20 years, and is a Board member to the Disciple Seminary Foundation and the LA Youth Program. Savage also headed the fund raising efforts to build the new $5M Academic Center at Campbell Hall, and was named Volunteer of the Year. |

ALAN ROTHENBERG |
One of the most respected individuals in the sports and legal industries, Alan Rothenberg has more than 30 years of executive level sports experience and is a renowned expert in the field of sports law. Currently, he is Chairman of 1st Century Bank of Los Angeles and the sports marketing agency Premier Partnerships.
Rothenberg is best known for his success in revitalizing soccer in the United States. During the 1990’s Rothenberg spearheaded soccer’s rise in the United States as Chairman & CEO of the 1994 World Cup, President of the U.S. Soccer Federation, Founder of Major League Soccer, and Chairman of the 1999 Woman’s World Cup. Prior to his rise in soccer, Rothenberg was also involved with Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association, serving lengthy terms on the NBA Board of Governors. |
A former President of the State Bar of California, Rothenberg practiced law in California for more than 35 years. He spent 10 years
as a partner at Latham & Watkins and was a name partner at Manatt Phelps, Rothenberg & Philips for more than 20 years prior to joining Latham & Watkins in 1990. Rothenberg has appeared regularly on the ESPN sports talk program ‘Sportslook’ as a commentator on the field of sports law and has been an instructor of Sports Law at the University of Southern California. He was Chairman of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Sports Law.
Prominent in both civic and business realms, Rothenberg has served on several public company boards. He was also president of the Music Center’s Fraternity of Friends, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the California Museum of Science and Industry. He is on the board and has served as President of the Constitutional Rights Foundation, and was Chairman of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is Chairman of the Los Angeles Sports Council, and is a member of the board of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission and the Los Angeles Olympic Bld Committee.

Joann Klonowski is one of the top female executives in sports and event management with more than 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industries. A versatile leader with an extensive background in sports franchises and event management, Klonowski has held executive positions with teams in Major League Baseball with the Cleveland Indians, Major League Soccer with the Los Angeles Galaxy, XFL football, International Hockey League as CEO of the Long Beach Ice Dogs, National Basketball Association with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Klonowski’s international sports event management experience includes the 1994 World Cup where she was Vice President of Marketing and Client Services for the nine city event. She also served as Venue Director for Los Angeles for the 1999 Women’s World Cup. More recently she was the Managing Director of the 2002 Paralympic Games in Salt Lake and the Vice President of Sponsor Marketing/Ticketing for the Paralympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.
She has also served as a business development and marketing consultant to USA Rugby, Golden Baseball League, Chivas USA, Tournament of Roses, Broadway Inner Circle’s “The Producers”, and the Men’s and Women’s Gold Cup, Grammy Awards and California Speedway. She was Executive Director for the 1981 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and was the recipient of the MLB Marketing Excellence Award the same year and more recently Chief Executive Officer of SR Productions, producers of the Music Center Speaker Series.
She retains her position as a professor at the University of San Francisco and serves on the Advisory Board of California State Long Beach Sports Management Program. |
